As part of the College’s ongoing efforts to enhance the security of our systems and protect sensitive information, the College is implementing a mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) process when accessing your NIACC email account from outside the College's network. This additional security measure is crucial in safeguarding our data and ensuring that our digital assets remain protected from unauthorized access.
What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
MFA is an authentication method that requires the user to provide two or more verification factors to gain access to a resource. Instead of just asking for a username and password, MFA requires one or more additional verification factors, which decreases the likelihood of a successful cyber attack.
Your Options
To comply with this new security requirement, you can choose between the following authenticator applications. (Both applications are free and available for download on iOS and Android devices.)
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Google Authenticator
